Postdoctoral Research Fellow : Brisbane, Australia

The Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) was established as a research institute of the University of Queensland in 2003. The Institute is now operating out of a new state-of-the-art facility and houses 33 Principal Investigators with strong international reputations. The QBI is one of the largest neuroscience institutes in the world dedicated to understanding the mechanisms underlying brain function. Over the past decade QBI has positioned itself as one of the world's leading neuroscience research institutes. It played a key role in contributing to UQ attaining the highest possible score of 5 for neuroscience, in both the 2010 and 2012 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) reviews, one of only two universities in Australia to achieve this.

The role: The appointee will be responsible for conducting behavioural and brain imaging experiments to investigate the fundamental bases of human selective attention, production and decision-making. We are seeking a researcher with expertise in experimental psychology or cognitive neuroscience to conduct independent and collaborative research projects within the Queensland Brain Institute and across the other nodes of the Centre.

The person: The position would suit applicants with a background in experimental psychology, cognitive neuroscience or a related discipline. Experience in the use behavioural and neural measures of human cognition is essential. Applicants must have completed a PhD and have a track record of relevant publish papers.

Remuneration: This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Academic level A up to two years in the first instance. The remuneration package will be in the range of: Academic Level A – $76,865 – $82,510 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $82,540 – $96,537 p.a.).
