Tenure-Track Group Leader positions, MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology, London, UK

he MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology, funded in partnership by the Medical Research Council and King's College London in 2000, is now implementing a new strategic plan under the directorship of Oscar Marin. The Centre occupies the entire fourth floor of New Hunt's House, a multipurpose research and teaching building on the Guy's Campus of King's College
London. It comprises twenty-five laboratories and hosts nearly 150 scientists, students, and staff. Our work focuses on understanding the mechanisms that control brain development and how deviations from the normal plan lead to disease. We carry out highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary studies using a large variety of model organisms (http://www.devneuro.org).

We are seeking to recruit junior tenure-track group leaders to establish their own independent research groups and contribute to the overall goals of the Centre. We are particularly interested in early career applicants who meet the eligibility criteria for career development fellowships. We are seeking for innovative scientists interested in any aspect of neural development and plasticity, from cell fate specification to circuit assembly and function. Successful candidates who establish their own independent research group in
the Centre under a fellowship scheme will then be able to progress to a tenured post subject to a satisfactory progress review.

For an informal discussion of the post, please contact Professor Oscar Marin via email at [email protected].

To apply, please submit a one-page summary of research achievements and outline of future proposed research, a CV and the names of three potential reviewers to [email protected]. Please add “CDN GL” in the subject title.

Closing date for receipt of applications is 29th May 2015.

King’s College London values diversity and is committed to equality of opportunity.
