ENINET Christmas Meeting Alicante 2005
Wednesday 21 December 2005 - Thursday 22 December 2005ENI Christmas Meeting
December 21-22, 2005
Alicante, Spain
The ENI-Net Christmas Meeting has been conceived with the specific goal of facilitating the contact between the ENI network and young promising investigators of European origin, who have positions outside Europe.
The Instituto de Neurociencias de Alicante (UMH-CSIC), one of the network nodes, has excellent experience in conducting meetings shortly before Christmas convening young neuroscientists, who are resident abroad, but happen to be in Spain around that time of the year. Such meetings turned out to be particularly well suited to keep contact withexpatriates and to screen them for possible recruitment and/or stirtheir interest in returning to their home country. The meetings so farwere restricted mainly to young investigators of Spanish origin. However, with the involvement and support of the ENI-network, we expectthat this meeting will achieve a European dimension and turn into aninstrument for facilitating the ´brain-gain´ throughout Europe.Promising young researchers of European origin, who workin the US or elsewhere outside Europe, are invited to attend and topresent their work. Secondarily, the meeting is also open to EuropeanNeuroscientist working outside ENI-Net and interested in joining one ofits nodes. Sessions will cover all fields in Neuroscience. ENI teamleaders and representatives of the different network nodes willparticipate in the meeting, particularly those nodes or groups who haveplans to recruit researchers in the near future.
