The 2015 European Synapse Meeting is the fifth edition of a biannual event, after Bordeaux (2008), Göttingen (2009), Balatonfured, Hungary (2011) and Bordeaux (2013). The Bristol edition in 2015 is organized by members of previously funded EC research programmes and postgraduate training networks as well as members of Bristol’s Centre for Synaptic Plasticity
The aim of this meeting is to bring together junior and senior neuroscientists working on synapses and to provide a forum for new directions and ideas in synapse research. This serves to create a European research community with an active role in promoting synaptic research and its funding within the EU. Although organized by members of European consortia, the meeting welcomes participation from all neuroscientists within and outside the EU. The meeting will combine research lectures by leading neuroscientists from Europe and the US with poster sessions intended to encourage lively discussions and the free exchange of information and ideas.
Support from the Wellcome Trust, Physiological Society, EU consortia and from Industrial partners to this conference makes the registration fees very affordable, in particular for PhD students and post- docs (£150). The registration fee includes mid-morning and afternoon refreshments, lunches and a gala dinner.
Note that 4-6 talks will be selected from the poster abstracts.
