Technical position, Inselspital Bern, Neurology, Center for Experimental Neurolofy, Switzerland

The Center for Experimental Neurology (ZEN), based at the Bern University Hospital Inselspital, studies the sleep-wake circuits in the mammalian brain. The lab performs animal experiments in mice and rats, and has a large animal facility.

We are looking per 01.04.2015 or by arrangement for an Animal Facility Manager with workload 40% (approx. two days per week).

Your main task is the maintenance of the animal facility. This includes cleaning and changing cages, checking animal status, adjusting cages according to the rearing plans, managing the stock (bedding and food), and helping with the genotyping. You would support the researchers by their everyday work and you are expected to interact with them.

We expect an education as biology technician, experience with the above mentioned tasks, good handling of living animals and very good knowledge of english and german. Previous completion of the LTK1 Module would ab an asset.
