Dr Pavla Jendelova
Neurotransplantation and repair
The Institute of Experimental Medicine ASCR in Prague

Research Area

The group’s studies are aimed at exploring the potential use of cell therapy to repair and improve the biological functioning of defective nervous tissue.
Research focuses on the labeling and in vitro differentiation of different types of stem cells (embryonic, bone marrow, olfactory, umbilical blood cord), the transplantation of these cell types into the injured CNS, the use of magnetic resonance imaging to track superparamagnetic nanoparticlelabeled cells post-implantation, and the use of biopolymer hydrogels to bridge spinal cord lesions and promote tissue regeneration.
